Special education teachers face significant administrative burdens, as they spend much of their workday on paperwork for Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). This study investigates how the Magi School IEP generator, an AI tool, affects teachers’ time management and workload. Using the mixed-method approach with 20 special education teachers from six schools in South Carolina, USA. This research measures the time saved, evaluates the quality of paperwork, and assesses teacher satisfaction with AI-assisted IEP generation. The results indicate that teachers who use the Magic School IEP generator save about 4.5 hours per student IEP documentation, representing approximately a 58% reduction in time spent. These results could help schools manage teacher workloads, improve job satisfaction, and give teachers more time to work directly with students. Overall, the study suggests that AI-assisted tools can significantly reduce administrative burdens while maintaining the quality and compliance standards of IEP documentation.
